Brian -

By the same token, what is the sense in buying AMD after such a profitable run up based on being the "little guy"?

For those with the cash INTC would be a great buy at these prices. INTC has an expected price target of $200 for 1997, so a $90 investment in INTCW would come to $160 if this price target is hit. INTC is a proven winner in the game...AMD has some proving to do yet.

I have seen many call for $50 on AMD next year...sounds like AMD and INTC have experienced the same 100% runup in the last 6 months and both expect a 100% runup next year.

Sounds as if you can win equally with either stock...although AMD sure does carry a much GREATER risk and a track record of Proven disappointment.

PS: I hold both AMD and INTC, but AMD sure has taken me on a rollercoaster over the last 4 years while INTC keeps going up, up, up!
