You hit a lot of points there, a few IMO are off base....

-xDSL might not make it, or so I have heard......
-Cable companies will be able to offer phone service in the future
-A company in London is quite successful at it now

I am not short AOL, I am long, it is just that there are many issues on where connectivity is going, my bet is cable because of the bandwidth....But the main focus of the article was that with AOL's subscriber base and 50% market share, ATT/@Home will not be able to ignore the possible revenue stream and will therefore offer a cable reseller agreement (especially at the price ATT paid for TCI, OUCH! they will need the cash)
