John; While I doubt I would ever play any futures contracts,
as I consider them to be instruments only suitable for persons
with much more money than I have, I find some of them interesting.
This one you mention on the Nikkei225 , but based on Dollars really captures my interest. I bet some large offshore hedge funds have
a lot of fun with that one.
I'm not sure if I understand what you seem to be telling me.
Nikkei futures contract is based on US$5 times the Nikkei
225 index. The margin requirement is less than 10%.

--------------------
Ie like if the Nikkei is 16000 , then one contract would be
$5 times that amount !! 0r US $80000, indeed that would be rich
for my blood..even with the 10% margin , the way that index
goes up and down someone better have deep pockets to play
any amount of that baby.
I would expect the big players on it are also playing the YEN.
What a deal for them, short the yen buy the 225, then latter
switch, I take it you can short the Futures ?
Thanx
Jim
