Bob, your credibility continues to go down in a blazing ball of fire, in my estimation. Not only did you refuse to acknowledge your incredible blunder, you took the opportunity to further your "agenda", whatever it might be. Let's just analyze TNL's front page article, shall we?

Watching the Blivits Burst...Back on July 13th, I wrote that " One of the most satisfying things lately about maintaining the "Blivit List" is watching the "Blivits" burst prematurely."

You admit getting satisfaction in "watching the 'Blivits" burst prematurely. First of all, why would you take satisfaction in such an event (do you also enjoy reading about peoples' deaths?!?!?)? Secondly, if you truly do feel that way, why on earth would you admit it to your readers???? As an IT Project Manager, I certainly don't get joy in hearing about other peoples' software or systems problems. . .even if I foretold them!

One of the stocks that I warned about in the last "Blivit List" addition was Global Games Corp. (OTC BB:GLOW). Although I merely published the article here on the TNL web site...

Merely? Don't you supposedly blast your newsletter out to some 7,000 people? Don't you frequent just about every stock site on the internet, advertising your newsletter? Or, are you meaning that what you have to say is not to be taken seriously.

. . .one of its readers posted it on the Silicon Investor forum for GLOW.

How strange that someone who is a reader of TNL and a member of SI would post something from TNL about GLOW on the GLOW board at SI! Very odd (<--Heavy sarcasm).

Although a number of people privately e-mailed me to thank me

Sorry, Bob. But when someone posts "facts" that are easily and independently refuted, it isn't easy to accept as 100% accurate "facts" that are not possible to confirm.

. . .my "public image" on the GLOW forum took a bit of a beating...to say the least.

You're doing a might fine job continuing the self mutilation of that image.

To give you some background....

I will correct every error I KNOW of. Those errors I am not yet aware of will have to be corrected by someone else...

On July 7th, GLOW distributed a press release claiming. . .

"Claiming?" Gee, no prejudice here. I believe Gary "stated" that. . .

. . ."a signed Letter of Acceptance has been received from the Commonwealth of Dominica, West Indies, to design and build a full virtual casino to be owned by the government of Dominica." The release specifically cites Mr. Julius Timothy, Minister of Finance, Industry and Planning for the Commonwealth of Dominica.

Bravo, Bob! You got THAT correct!

However. . .

Uh-oh! I sense trouble!

The lead article in the latest edition of "The Independent, Dominica's leading newspaper" makes it very, very clear that this press release is not correct.

I categorically deny that! The article does NOT make it clear. In fact, the article answers a question that supposedly addresses the press release of July 7th. However, the question does NOT address the press release. Again, newspaper people know how to put words together to form sentences. However, they frequently have little understanding about that on which they are reporting. The reporter obviously has little understanding of what a "letter of acceptance" is. It is nothing more than an intent to do business. As a practical matter, it is worth about as much as the newspaper lining your cat's litter box.

"I categorically deny signing any agreement with Global Games Corporation," said Minister of Finance Honourable Julius Timothy. "I have a proposal from them which I am looking at and nothing has been decided. I have not even taken it to Cabinet."

Mr. Timothy has a proposal from GLOW? Gee, isn't that what the press release "claimed"?

A subsequent message from the Editor of The Independent, which was sent to another participant on the GLOW SI forum last night, states "I confirm that the information contained in the Independent story of July 29, 1998 is correct."

Gee. Isn't that odd. . .a newspaper standing by their story. I've never known a newspaper to stand by its story in the light of scrutiny. Obviously, the reason Peter Arnett and CNN stood by their story originally is because, it originally it was correct! Then someone went back in time and changed the facts!

Although the lead article in The Independent includes a HTML link to the July 30th GLOW press release, this message from the Editor states that it is the July 7th press release that Mr. Timothy was refuting, and that he made his comments at least a week ago.

There is absolutely no quote in that article that "refutes" the July 7th press release. In fact, it actually CONFIRMS the July 7th press release with the quote by Mr. Timothy stating, "I have a proposal from them which I am looking at and nothing has been decided."

Bob, you also failed to mention the concern by the other internet gambling presence on the island for the apparent intent for the Government to enter into the business themselves. THAT, my fine feathered friend, is a serious omission!

On Thursday, July 30th, GLOW sent out another press release stating that "it has signed a formal Internet software license agreement with Island Sports Book and Casino, Commonwealth of Dominica, West Indies." As soon as I obtain any confirmation or refutation of this press release, I will publish it on this web site.

Why don't you just call Mr. Timothy??? I don't understand why you rely solely on what you read on the internet as sources for your newsletter. ESPECIALLY for your feature article!!!

Well...I've posted this information on the Silicon Investor and Raging Bull forums for GLOW. The initial responses on these forums have been a combination of rather convoluted explanations of why the article in The Independent is not correct, and verbal abuse aimed at me...

Convoluted? Wait a minute! The entire premise of your argument is that Mr. Timothy was refuting the July 30th press release! When proven that that analysis was absolutely not correct (since, to all but you it was incredibly evident that since the press release came out AFTER the article was written, it wasn't possible!) Now, you simply gloss that over and state that since Mr. Timothy refutes the existence of anl agreement, it somehow contradicts a PR that merely states nogotiations are underway.

Let me repeat! To any and all observers who know anything about the timing and wording of press releases, the July 7th release was nothing more than an announcement of negotiations to enter into an agreement. NOTHING MORE!! Bob, someone who writes and distributes an internet newsletter should absolutely and categorically be aware of the difference between a "letter of acceptance" and a "signed formal license agreement". Mr. Timothy's quotes absolutely confirm that there were some type of negotiations going on since he was looking at the proposal from GLOW!!!!

I'm sorry, Bob. I really hate to take you to task. I however, I hold you to a higher standard than the TGW's and MMPro's of the world. You, in publishing a newsletter on the topic, are holding yourself out to be an expert in the field. Such a gross oversight is absolutely inexcusable! Your flimsy attempt to gloss over such a serious error is equally inexcusable! THAT is the reason I am so harsh with you.

People, this is why you don't believe everything you read on the internet!

GO BIG RED!!!
BTW, Bob, I wish you the best of luck with TNL.
