Ramsey:

The Q800 is in volume production; remember that the Q800 is a dual-mode phone (800mhz digital and analog) and that QC management believes that this is a much more attractive value-proposition for a high-end phone (than the original 1900mhz Q). I look for QC to meet backlog (which appears to be substantial) for these phones before turning its attention to the PCS version of the Q.

In case you have forgotten, the Q1900 is a single mode (digital only) phone. It is my understanding that there are packaging issues which basically prohibit a dual-mode, dual-band (analog/digital, 800mhz/1900mhz) phone in the current Q form factor. So even when reintroducted in September, the Q1900 will still labor with coverage issues (as a digital only product).

I expect QC will introduce several new phone models/types in the September/October timeframe that may address the PCS market with more, shall we say, sex appeal...

Best regards,

Gregg
