James, I work with some of the folks that are involved in such standard setting processes -- ANSI, X3, NCITS, etc. -- and if I get a chance to come up for air tomorrow from the Y2K struggle, I'll ask 'em about it, although I usually try to avoid the technobabble. ggg.
