Hi Christine!

I thought it was self-evident. Switzerland has one of the lowest rates of crime and gun violence in the world. People on your side would have us believe that would be a consequence of strict gun control and little access to guns.

Wrong. Switzerland is probably at the top in the ubiquitousness of guns. The Swiss are required by law to be gun proficient and to be armed.

The study out of the University of Chicago is correct, gun ownership by a gun proficient populace reduces gun crimes and crime in general. The tired old liberal nostrums about controlling guns are not just stupid but also dangerous because only the law-abiding are disarmed by such laws.

The book also documents why the Brady gun law is such a failure. And is anyone truly surprised that Brady has not reduced the criminals' ability to get guns, just the ability of frightened women?
