Ram--
Just heard the first "serious" discussion of y2k on CNBC this morning. Michael Fitzgerald, the bow tied fund manager of Fitzgerald Capital Asset Management, explained on "Squak Box" how his fund plans to make out big time with companies such as Dell and Intel because many companies will ultimately opt for replacement of systems. (Actually predicted Intel would be at $125 within 12 mos.) He discussed problems with medical devices, low end production equipment and mentioned military hardware and satellite communication. Of course no mention of any y2k/IT companies. More importantly no snickering, moronic comments or talk of ammo and sterno. My how one congressional hearing followed by one D.C. newspaper article can change the tenor of the conversation seemingly overnight. "flatsville"
