CNBC - ASND acquisition of Stratus - done deal! Maybe this will help PAIR hold a little in a down market. -- Internet equipment supplier Ascend Communications Inc. (ASND - news) is expected to announce early Monday plans to buy Stratus Computer Inc. (SRA - news) for less than $1 billion in stock, according to sources familiar with the transaction. Ascend shares closed at 44-15/32.
