Ratan:
I think it is a little different. It says - all you can do is your karma. The results are not in your hand.

This is my understanding of Karma.
Karma is an assorted bag of actions good, bad ,or anything in between and is subject only to causal law - Cause and effect. This Karma is linear in nature, in that it transcends one's life time and continues in to next life with a continuos running account of good, bad and anything in between. The effects can be modified only by BAKTIMARGA or DIVINE GRACE until liberation is achieved at last. Baktimarga is liberation through the practice of altruism and devotion (Bhakti) to Brahman and Divine Grace is simply a Divine Prasada, irrespective of one's karma.

Baktimarga is an active practice by the individual to attain liberation, while Divine Grace or Prasada is Divine Forgiveness. The latter is also part of Christian faith. Compare Baktimarga with Sufism, in which sufis are intoxicated with the love of GOD, one kind of Bakti. It is generally accepted that BAKTI is a south Indian concept.
Just think of it this way: Your indebtedness is forgiven. You are liberated from all debts and biological processes. And you are karma-free and attain the stage of UNBORN ( will never be born again), the Supreme State - One with GOD
