Great post. I haven't even finished it. "Although the excitement about deals, take-overs and mergers is now past its peak, following the highly publicised collapse of the deal between TCI and Bell Atlantic, one area remains wide open for competition or co- operation - the ownership of content is still seen as crucial. Without content, there will be no interactive TV. In all the hype about video-on- demand (VOD) services, the need to negotiate a programming 'window' for this service has been widely ignored or overlooked. VOD must be slotted in alongside all the other 'windows' - cinema, video rental, pay-per-view or NVOD, video sell-through and broadcast TV - and is likely to end up trailing a long way behind".
