Korean chaebols are enormous, as in combined sales in 100's of $billions... some of the businesses within chaebols must be profitable... my guess is cash flow... banks are standing dead frozen... maybe some IMF funds have found their way to these subsidies IMF has become so politicized, I consider it inept... they have one formula for remedy -- austerity -- which does not work in a deflationary continental environment Rubin has privately jawboned for US Congress to contribute no more for now... he realizes that Asia needs 10-20 times what it has been promised by IMF to make a difference IMF IS OUT OF MONEY / Jim Willie
