Following up that article; there was one in the swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet today with an interview of Ollila. Things in the corporate culture like Decision Making on low levels is very possible in Nokia (that is probably unheard of in American companies...)and an Asset according to Ollila. Further he mentioned that the product life cycle is not more than a year now and they will deliver many new models going forward. Personally I believe that the rigid and hierarchical american way of decision making with endless internal reporting & administration just gets in the way of speed and effectivity.
