As an IT manager, I get regular updates on the state of our Y2K remediation. The following was included in the latest report:

According to a second quarter 1998 survey of 128 IT managers by
CAP Gemini:

> 40% of companies reported a Year 2000-related operation failure, up from 37% in April. Among those reporting failures,
. 87% reported processing disruptions
. 62% reported financial miscalculations or losses
. 44% reported logistics or supply-chain problems
. 38% reported customer-service problems
> 87% of companies said they underestimated Year 2000 costs, compared
with 82% in December.
> 72% of companies are now focused on contingency planning, compared
to 3% in April.
