Rather than wondering whether other investors would dump the stock becuase of the perceived lack of price momentum, I think a SAP investor should ask following questions.

1. Does SAP have a good management? Yes, actually one of the best in the world.

2. Does SAP have a dominant market position? Yes, SAP's market share is greater than the next four ERP venders combined.

3. Is the market for their product growing? Yes, ERP revolution is in a 'tornado' phase and is unlikely to slow down for the foreseeable future.

4. Is SAP serious about preparing for future trend changes? Yes, SAP spends more on R&D than PSFT makes in revenue.

Unless one or more of the above answers change - say, shrinking market shares, or ERP market saturation, etc. I believe this stock should be held tightly.

Just my humble opinion.
