NVX and DTap-Hib Vaccines

NVX is not at any disadvantage with their competitors on this score.

Presently, the competitors, Connaught and AHP can offer DTaP-Hib as a combined shot for the 4th dose. This is the last dose of Hib in the series. If all elected to take it that would amount to 20% of the market. Fact is that right now less than 1/3 get it as the fourth for one reason or the other. So we are talking about 7% of the market that is at best, in question for now. Some pediatricians don't recommend it, some parents won't accept it. Enter CERTIVA and the choice is : do I accept the higher risk for adverse events from another DTaP plus compromise the immune response for the vaccines involved to illiminate one more shot? Your doctor if he is using CERTIVA is most certainly going to advise against it.
Last point NVX has European clinical trials Phase III going on right now for DTaP-Hib . I am talking infants , shots 1,2,3& 4.
I rate it low probability that anyone will have this vaccine to market before NVX.
NVX does have the only proven and approved SAFE DTaP vaccine. All the others have experienced "serious adverse events " in their clinical trials.
If the pediatrician doesn't place that criteria as his highest proirity I certainly don't want him seeing my grandchildren.
If one is worried about numbers of shots, CERTIVA -IPV will be here soon, (within a year for sure). It is already approved for use in most of Europe.
