Radim (& Migs): Yep! No news. Stock pops! I may have been right about yesterday ushering in the new steam (or perhaps Wiz's next wave).
Migs asked the question: "Aside from conjecture, does anyone have any idea what is driving the stock price today?"
It occurred to me that any reason for a rise or fall in a stock is conjecture. I've been in stocks that perpetually lost value every time good news was announced. I'll never understand THAT phenomenon.
A few years ago, I bought thousands of dollars worth of Microsoft at $121 per share. I had heard rumors of a better than expected quarter announcement that was just hours away. Also, Greenspan was making an end-of-day announcement and that was expected to be positive. What a combination. I figured the stock would jump to $130 or better by closing bell. Well guess what! Microsoft indeed announced a surprisingly better-than-expected quarter and Greenspan indeed pronounce the economy healthy.
Microsoft closed at 113! Go figure.
The best answer is look at the company and look long.
So here's my conjecture on today's action.. People love Financial Intranet's idea, sector and management and we own enough shares to keep it stable and pointed upward. Oh yeah (IMO) we're going to hear good news very often and for a very long time.
