There's an interesting article on Lucent in the August issue of Red Herring at redherring.com
In the article there is a forecast by Dataquest that the worldwide communications equipment market will reach a stunning $500 billion by 2001. Considering that the combined 1998 sales of LU and CSCO will be about $36 billion in 1998, there is a lot of room for rapid growth by all market participants, perhaps especially these two gorillas.
