Mark , If analysts drove their cars like they approach the stockmarket there would be lots of accidents . What do I mean ? They are always looking in their rear view mirrors to see where they have been . Do you get my point ? Those that recommend Intel with a $123 billion or so market cap. or half the total value of the semiconductor industry , recommend it on the basis of where it has been (in a monopoly position able to set its own agenda and prices) . Cyrix could not give PC manufacturers a valid alternative (too small) knowing once they incurred the wrath of Intel they would be last in line for Intel's favour . With AMD it is different story ,they have the size to produce the product and now they have a full line of processors that match or are superior in some cases . I can appreciate what you are saying re Intel , but the road ahead is different from the one we have travelled , sure Intel's profits will not suddenly evaporate ,but they will not grow in 97 like they have in the past . The question is how will investors react to this ? every other mortal co. reacts with a decline in share price, regards
