MICRON TECHNOLOGY, INC., TO USE RICHARDSON FACILITY AS DESIGN <Picture> Research and Development Site

BOISE, Idaho--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 3, 1998--Micron Technology, Inc., today announced that after the closing of its pending transaction with Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI), it intends to use the Richardson, Texas, facility (formerly known as TwinStar) as a design research and development location. The company intends to locate approximately 100 product designers and development engineers at the facility. In addition, a limited number of information systems staff and other support personnel will be located at the facility. "We are pleased to be able to utilize the Richardson facility and to be able to take advantage of the highly skilled staff currently located in Dallas and Houston," said Mark Durcan, Chief Technical Officer and Vice President of Research and Development for Micron Technology, Inc.
