You have got to recognize Nortel as being a truly multi-national company, although they are Canadian owned. Their sales in Canada represent a small percentage of their gross revenue...probably under 5%.

They sell and report in US dollars and have many manufacturing locations world wide.

Much of their R&D is done in Canada...cost of R&D talent is low because of the weak dollar, however the expertise of their R&D staff ranks among the best.

What a great recipe for continued success.
