Well, I guess no one can say for certain about Clinton. I was watching the Sunday punditocracy and they're pretty evenly split. Some think the mea culpa strategy might work. Personally, I think the DNA will damage his credibility and ruin his agenda (they'll keep playing that pointed-finger denial "I. did. not. have. sexual. relations. with. that. woman.") which will make him a laughingstock and people will say "Hey, if he lied then, he's lying elsewhere, too."

I agree, DNA will NOT impeach him, though. The obstruction of justice absolutely WILL get him, though if they prove that.

The ways it can play out:
1. Deny it happen and have DNA contradict him -- Very damaging politically. House of Reps would impeach for lying to a grand jury. That's a serious felony

2. Admit it happened -- Huge political hit. Survivability is likely, but in a crippled form.

3. Obstruction of justice. This makes the stain on the dress trivial. If Betty corroborates Monica on returned gifts, that's strong evidence right there of obstruction.

4. Suborning perjury -- Tough to prove. If they link talking points to him (unlikely based on what I've read), he's a dead man. Unlikely this will stick.

I think a good portion of the Dow and Naz drop are due to people's uncertainty about how this plays out. GCTY can go public -- probably will -- but that doesn't mean it will be boffo.
