A while back here in this thread, Tom Eames of Next Level made a statement about the "dedicated" aspects of DSL, while also boasting its security advantages over cable modem. Of course, in his deployments, using cell-carrying VDSL in the last 1,000' to 2,000' between the pedestal and the home, he was absolutely correct.

But since that time, there have been more developments in the concentrator variety than in the switched, so I thought I'd make this point clear here.
