don't forget the fifth dimension.. into your wallet.

the learning channel:

Lets face it down dip on an 8.5 foot wide fissure vein is not guaranteed when a kimberlite pipe will neck down from 1500 feet in diameter to 50 feet in 3000 feet of depth ....

diatreme facies implies that the volcanic activity was explosive..that is the raison d'etre of the tuffaceous porphyrytic mixed up texture that is the diatreme... fast mixed violent implosive power sucking in xenoliths of wall rock and spraying by bernoulli's law ice cold dust at jet speeds extrusively up to 6 kilometres into the air... you can know what the volcano did by looking at the texture of the volcanic.. diatreme is even more explosive than a pyroclastic which dominates the lamproitic emplacements or even the nuee ardente. This implies that whatever width the diatreme has at surface will quickly dissipate...

A dyke by contrast is fine grained and non-explosive,.. it is moderately quick cooling.. a kimberlite dyke would look remarkable like a basalt.. records of diamond production from actual dykes is non existent as far as I know.

raison d'etre are not fruit that you eat. It means reason to be. it is french. when you say french phrases it means you know high tone stuff.
