At one point I had over 20,000 shares of a small oil stock I (get ready for key operative word) 'THOUGHT' was gonna fly. Did my research, analyst reports(a top pick by the field experts at top firms with lists of their past picks-what bright guys!), study the graph Hx, phone calls to the Co., CFO, even CEO. My broker assured me it was, 'as close to a sure thing' as there was. Etc. Well, I met the elephant. I was gliding along the sidewalk and so was he, in the opposite direction. He had a lot more mass then I and, well, without being overly dramatic, I started losing. Had lots and lots of good reasons to hang in and not bail, and I did not...UNTIL...(man this would make a great bedtime campside scary story, huh?) it was well into my meager profits. Hungry elephant. Well into my original investment, oww/ahhh/ouch. Finally, pain and reality, loss of sleep, lack of enjoyment of the simple blessings being alive can impart on a daily basis, I decided to follow my OWN INSTINCTS and bailed. That was last Nov. Glad I did...finally.
On a much smaller scale I got scalded on this little beauty. Mr. Dragon welcome to the club. Neo gets everybody sooner or later.
But I can appreciate your 'trading rules' R. Good to have, good to follow, good not to deviate if they are sound. I have paid dearly for my education and will trust that the good Lord has a lesson in it for me, not the least of which is follow your passion, not the gamble.
When you find it you can live happily ever after.
And to all a good night.
