Chuca, So there are different rules for placer and hard rock there. That might explain it a bit. Is there a max amount of placer one person or group can claim? Complexities of different areas. In the Australian opal fields they limit you to tiny plots for each person. Done that way to keep companies out and individuals supreme. I was there for a few days in 1988, hot as hell in Cooperpedie, people lived underground in carved out caves fully furnished with all residential comforts and a lot cooler due to ground cooling. Looked for opals found some splinters, just touristing on a 5 week asian trip. Well I think you and your group will be ablke to ask the right questions now and make sure you know what you are doing.
