If you buy one share of CIEN now it will be converted into one share of TLAB when the merger is completed. Right now CIEN is 1 3/4 cheaper so if you have faith that the merger will go through you can buy TLAB at a cheaper price via CIEN. Of course if the merger doesn't go through CIEN will have to trade on it's own merits and maybe that wouldn't be as high as TLAB. Well I should say DEFINITELY wouldn't trade as high as TLAB considering CIEN has a cloud over it now due to those idiots over at AT&T.

If/when the merger is completed CIEN shares won't trade anymore and you will have to buy both companies via TLAB.

Looks like the CCSC deal just got completed. You will have to buy 3 companies---Ciena, Coherent and Tellabs.

3 for the price of one, sounds like a deal to me.
