Thank you for clarifying a point re: Schwab that was originally made
in one of my posts. These 2 (or 1 if they're the same person)
nitwits reading the post I made assumed that I said that Schwab had
just purchased a bunch of PC's running NT for their customer service
department. What I clearly stated was that Schwab installed NT on
their existing PC's. As an aside, Schwab received NT as an upgrade
at a nominal cost. Their decision was a no-brainer. It is interesting that your comments covered Schwab's situation so
accurately. I think most NT "sales" are these cheap upgrades that
Microsoft is shipping.

The point I was making actually had to with Schwab's on-line trading
system and its security, administration & computing requirements, none
of which can be met by PC's. That is why Schwab's PC's are in the
customer service department. The fact is, NT or Windows notwithstanding, Schwab has not and does not plan to do any of its on-line trading on PC's, all of which is done on IBM 3090's.

While I find the prospect of intelligent debate useful, the comments
of Mssrs. twister & kelley have degenerated into a predictable and
shrill series of misrepresentations, sophomoric bombast, & name-calling. From now on, I am going to restrict my replies to
those who have something constructive to add to the dialog.
