BOB DAVIS, I have reviewed your post #5696 and your website. I find that your website is still lacking an apology for reporting that the contract was non-existent. Is this what you call a retraction ?

Lets summarize your web site header page (as of 8/4/98 in the am).

1.You discuss how you WARNED you readers about GLOW on July 13.
2.you claim that GLOW's July 7 press release was repudiated by the Minister.
3.You then claim that your reputation, integrity, intelligence and manhood are currently being repeatedly trashed on the GLOW forums.
4.You associate GLOW with another company as follows, the WSJ reported on a similar situation concerning Mountain Energy, which the SEC suspended from trading last Wednesday.

Lets analyze these items point by point;
1.You started by implanting a pre-conceived notion in your reader minds, I.E. Your previous WARNING !!!!
2.Your claimed repudiation of GLOW's July 7 press release, quotes from the article in the independent follow
"I categorically deny signing any agreement with Global Games Corporation," said Minister of Finance Honourable Julius Timothy. "I have a proposal from them which I am looking at and nothing has been decided. I have not even taken it to Cabinet."
Now, The heading of GLOW's July 7 Press Release, "Global Games Corp. Signs Preliminary Agreement With Commonwealth of Dominica" This is further clarified in the release as follows, "Global Games Corp.(OTC BB:GLOW) announced today that a signed Letter of Acceptance has been received from the Commonwealth of Dominica"
Lets see, Preliminary Agreement, Signed Letter of Acceptance, Noting binding here ! The release goes on to state "Gary L. Borglund, President and CEO of Global Games Corp., was pleased to have been contacted by the Commonwealth of Dominica. ''The Commonwealth of Dominica is the first country to request our software and services. We are working briskly to meet the opening day deadline. A final agreement is being drafted and is expected to be signed within one week. Lets look, A final agreement is being drafted, so, obviously nothing has been finalized here !!!
So, to the Minister's quote, "Denies signing any agreement".
Now correct me if I am wrong, an agreement is a contract, is it not?
It appears that Both the Minister and GLOW were correct. You certainly would not call GLOW's characterization of a PRELIMINARY Agreement a contract ? You would not call a signed letter or acceptance a contract ? I believe that if GLOW had called this PRELIMINARY agreement a contract, You would most certainly have called them on it, would you not ? So when the Minister is asked by a reporter if he has signed an agreement (Notice, not preliminary agreement or Letter of acceptance, but agreement as in contract) with GLOBAL GAMES he tells the truth as he sees it. BTW, I am sure that you are aware that government officials are very adept at using language to avoid answering a direct question, and this is a prime example, the minister denied the existence of a contract.
Now the best quote of them all, From GLOW's July 7 release "Global Games subsequently sent a formal proposal to Mr. Timothy to build the Virtual World Casino and Sports Book of Dominica",
The quote from the Independent, "I have a proposal from them which I am looking at and nothing has been decided. I have not even taken it to Cabinet."
Now, you have monitored this thread for some time, you saw the message that was posted either last week or late in the week before that, that stated that the contract would not be finalized until the Prime Minister, who was out of the country, returned and sign it.
HAD YOU BOTHERED TO ANALYZE THE RELEASES AND THE INDEPENDENT ARTICLE YOU, as a journalist, SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO FIGURE THIS OUT FOR YOURSELF, instead your web site header page as of this morning still contained insinuations, even after all of the explanations given.
3.As to your claim that your reputation, integrity, intelligence and manhood are currently being repeatedly trashed on the GLOW forums.
After an initial bout of this when everyone finally realized what you were doing, there may have been some of this, But, anyone posting irresponsible accusations without checking the facts would have received that same treatment. As a journalist, you should know better.
4.Your, guilt by association technique is abominable. RE: Your quote that "the WSJ reported on a similar situation concerning Mountain Energy, which the SEC suspended from trading last Wednesday."

You exhibit journalism at it's worst. Still not one word of apology or retraction for the damage you have caused.
