OK!
So now we will apply your meaning to the verses in Hebrews, with the House Of Israel being those with the Faith of Abraham.....
Hebrews 8 8: For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: 9: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
Did those with the Faith of Abraham continue not in God's covenant? To me, this is not logical. It was the Faith of Abraham that saved him. Let's substantiate this by the New Testament;
John 8 56: Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.
So to have the Faith of Abraham, you had to believe in the coming of the Messiah, or the Messiah himself. Abraham did as you can see! So anyone in the Faith of Abraham did not break God's covenant, in fact, they did the opposite, they believed fully and totally, in God's New Covenant, before the New Covenant even existed. (This also segways back into our other discussion on the thread, that you could believe in Christ, before the New Covenant or New Testament ever existed, but let's leave that alone right now until we figure out who the House of Israel is in the verses in Hebrews.) So does your definition of the House of Israel being those who had the Faith of Abraham make sense?
May God show us only the truth in his scriptures, today and always...
