<<My understanding is that the 50 million shares all went in payment of the land in West Virginia.>>

As stated previously, the 50MM shares are for the first $200MM worth of mineral assets (I believe net value). AS I understand this is the contract between MTEI and the real estate company (i.e., Towe and company). If the first property values do not equal $200MM more property will be added until it does. This is what I understand from reading the two threads.

<<It could be that these mineral rights were paid for with some of the shares authorized a month ago. In that case, though, I'd imagine the deal was cut before the trading halt.>>

If the WV properties are worth $200MM, then I would say that your assumption is probably correct. I am not too sure about the trading being halted statement. I remember one of our "experts" on the thread saying that anyone can sell their shares at anytime to anyone else directly - just not over the exchange. The SEC did not "freeze their assets".

<<I heartily agree with those who've said that fuller explanations would be useful.>>

Yes, it would be useful. But it may be more prudent for MTEI to say less through official PRs at this juncture. I'm sure you see this point, don't you? But if anyone cares to have their questions answered, they CAN pick up the phone and call the company. I know you won't Janice, I'm talking about people who want to actually get answers to their questions. Case in point:

<<How does the company plan to pay Dunn? Much less finance any exploitation they may have in mind?>>
