Jim Patterson has been told at least a dozen times that DELL is buying back stock, but that they use long term call instruments to buy it at a discount. We even cite the pertinent paragraphs from the annual statement.

Please explain how they do this.
Do they write puts ?
that is the only way, and even then, it would only be a couple of points,
So, DELL is buying their stock at all time highs - 3%
