Star Technologies Subsidiary Curran Data Technologies Awarded HCFA ClaimsProcessing Contract From Golden Rule
STERLING, Va., Aug. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Star Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: STRRC) today announced its subsidiary Curran Data Technologies, Inc. (CDT) has been awarded a claims processing contract by the Golden Rule Insurance Company of Indianapolis, IN. The value of the one-year contract is estimated to be in excess of $100,000.
Under the terms of the contract, CDT will scan Health Care Finance Administration (HCFA) medical insurance forms, provide electronic archival images, and capture data automatically using enhanced OCR/ICR. CDT will deliver the data files and images to Golden Rule, which will process them through its automated electronic claims processing system. With the recent completion of the test period, CDT is ramping up for full production of the Golden Rule contract in August.
"Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR) was a logical next step to enhance our data entry operations," said Drew Pearson, Claims Manager at Golden Rule. "Outsourcing proved the best choice for us to keep start-up costs low. We selected CDT because it offered us a cost-effective, technically superior ICR solution."
"The test phase allowed CDT to demonstrate our ability to meet -- and exceed -- the high accuracy and performance standards demanded by this contract," said Carol Curran, president of Curran Data Technologies, Inc. "Our track record for successfully serving other large corporations and organizations also contributed to our selection for this important contract."
