I have been sitting on the side line and listening to the talks. It occured to me that the computer industry as a whole is at a cross road. On the one side, PC/Workstations are evolving. On the other side NC is coming along. I don't think this is the end. Not even for the near term. I believe NC is still in the process of defining itself. What I have seen is not the most exciting machine that would make me go out and buy one. I hope this discussion here will lead someone to come up with a better designs that will end this discussion.

Several other observations. 1) JavaStation will have hard time competing with NC made at higher volume and with lower cost processors. 2) NC has an entry point replacing Xterminals and PC's which should have been Xterminals. Will NC as is currently designed be a success is remain to be seen. 3) Network gaining importantance whichever way this turns out to be.
