Here's the press release for the Name Change and reorg. Seems to have had no effect on the stock (not surprising).

Cheers,
Larry.

Introduces New Corporate Image

TELULAR CANADA INC ("TC-T") - Introduces New Corporate Image

The company will propose a legal name change at the 1998 Annual Shareholders Meeting

Telular Canada Inc., a leading innovator of integrated wireless communications and automatic data
collections solutions, unveiled a new corporate image. This new identity will effectively communicate
Telular Canada's forward thinking philosophies and convey the global reach of its innovative solutions.
This strategic initiative positions the corporation to leverage growth as we move into the 21st century.
Steps toward achieving a new image include a new name and logo, along with a reorganization of the
company's business units.

Telular Canada's wholly-owned subsidiary Granite Communications has changed its legal name as of
August 1, 1998 to Global Data Inc., and will operate under the name Global Data Granite
Communications. Granite's name change follows an announcement made on May 20, 1998 where
Telular Canada's Wireless Business Group changed its name to Global Data Wireless.

In addition to Granite's name change, Global Data Granite Communications and Global Data Wireless
have been combined into a single operating entity. This merging of the Company's operating entities
will streamline business operations and improve efficiencies by focusing the full resources of the
company towards common objectives. Within this newly combined entity Global Data Wireless will
focus on penetrating the automatic meter reading (AMR) market within the utility industry with its new
CS-832 product. This product provides an economical means of remotely reading utility meters without
the need of human intervention. Global Data Granite Communications will launch their new NOVAS
handheld computer this fall. In addition, Global Data Granite Communications will manage all the R&D
and operating activities for the Corporation.

The final step for the Company's new identity will be a proposed corporate name change at the Annual
General Meeting of Shareholders to be held in December 1998, changing the name Telular Canada
Inc. to GDI Global Data Inc.

"These changes reflect the future of our business and strategically position Telular Canada to grow
exponentially in the rapidly advancing wireless and handheld markets," said Harry R. Klein, President
and CEO. "Representing the corporation with one identity, Global Data, and operating as a single
entity will eliminate any confusion within the marketplace and enhance the Company's image to better
reflect our unified focus."

Granite's new corporate image will be unveiled at the upcoming Scan-Tech' 98 trade show in
Rosemont, Illinois. Scan-Tech, held Sept 14th through the 16th, is the largest automatic data
collection show in North America.

Telular Canada Inc. provides integrated communications solutions directly in Canada and through its
wholly owned subsidiary Global Data Wireless. Telular Canada also develops, manufactures, sells and
supports the VIDEOPAD, NOVAS and Featherweight line of handheld data communications products
through Global Data Granite Communications, a subsidiary based in Nashua, New Hampshire. Telular
Canada can be reached through the Internet at globaldata.ca and Global Data Granite
Communications can be reached through the Internet at gclcom.com.

Telular Canada's common shares trade on The Toronto Stock Exchange ("TSE") under the symbol
