Dave, Malcolm, Jim & ALL, ;-) Just for fun, why are Fonar's mri "magnets" so heavy? Is it the iron core magnet? I'd guess it was.

I've been wondering what Toshiba's Opart (Open MRI) weights. Does anyone have a idea?

BTW, this is what Leon Kaufman of Toshiba says about iron core:

An iron-core magnet has a relatively small fringe field and is generally better suited for open-style MRI designs.

Thanks in advance.
