Does your wife still work because she truly wants to, or does she just need 8 hours a day away from some grumpy old retired guy with too much time on his hands? My retired-lawyer dad is still (involuntarily) working part-time a few days a week at 72 because he drives my mom crazy if he doesn't have something to do. On his off days, my mom volunteered him do the meals-on-wheels thing. According to my mom, it's the only way they stay married.
