LF, IBM hid in the bushes all day and never disputed the rumurs.All they said was that we will not be releaseing a statement today.Thats it nothing more zilch. A couple of hire guns came out and said something positive just to satify the suckers and it worked to some degree. The spin Doctors were out in full force today and I predicted that on the Ask Mike Burke Tread check my post on Dell tread too, I know the Gate screw up wasn't enough to hit CPQ. I wouldn't be surprised if IBM came in lower, because they flubed their server production last Q and CPQ benefited from that and PC sales stink bigtime and all they have is Mainframes ans consulting bus. I know that every time a PC company comes out with a disappointing statement the spin Doctors will upgrade the others the next day with phony projections. One idiot said INTC was going to 200 w/$9 est for 97-CPQ to $120 and the suckers went for it .But I think the analyst went over board this time.What are they giong to say the next time..that INTC $15.00 fy97 and 500 a share ? Its got to stop somewhere. You see Gate screwed up they were suppose to stick to the script which is that corporate sales are going gangbusters and not consummer sales because the consummer sales pitch is the old line and even the suckers know that they stink up the joint, but the corporate lie is now out of the bag.But the spin Dr. did a good job today on cnBS to fool the funddumbs and the momentum geeks for now. But someone else will come out and spill the beans then IBM can't hide in the bushes -g- Emotional MP
