Somehow I don't think we will be hearing from Bob Brinker on this thread. I am now starting to wonder if BB has made a mistake in calling for a bear market. IMO, if he issues a warning when the market is already down 10+%, the warning is useless. After one receives the warning in the mail, acts on the recommendations, gets the sell orders executed, etc., one may now be down 20+% in a market like the one we are having. To me, a meaningful warning would be one that gets us out of the market with a Dow/S&P decline of no more than 5 to 8% max.
So, having not heard from BB, and being a subscriber to the Marketimer for many years, I am becoming very concerned that we haven't heard from BB. A note from him, issued between the monthly mailings of the newsletter is certainly in order at times like this. If BB is wrong in his timing, we are the losers, not BB. Of course, this assumes we wait for his letter informing us to sell before we act.
One very concerned investor.
