Actually, if you look back, those were the points that I directed towards Mike to see what his answers would be! I think you did an excellent job of detailing the answers from Fusion's perspective.

To answer your question about tradeoffs given the different timing modes, I suspect that each pin is basically 125MHz I/O (drive and compare in the same bit cell), 250MHz drive only or compare only, and 500MHz drive only/compare only with limited formats. This corresponds to the digital timing modes of the Synchro (much lower frequencies, of course), which is the predecessor of Fusion.

Your point about the test head clearly differentiates LTX testers from the competition (and always has). This is a point that is quite often overlooked and is not only important from a performance standpoint but also from a production standpoint. A smaller head takes up less floor space and is easier for operators/setup technicians to handle.

What is your experience in ATE? As a customer or vendor (or both)? Thanks for your excellent inputs to the discussion here.
