You guys might shoot me for this, but I'm rather satisfied with alot of what Windows has to offer. The faults of the PC platform in my book is only a fraction due to Windows.

Most of it lies in the archaic PC hardware architecture. Using processor technology that is decades old. If Apple had allowed Microsoft to continue providing solid support for the Mac OS, they both could have grown profitable together.

MSFT could have been decades ahead with revolutionary software if they developed fully for the Mac instead of trying to mimic Mac applications on clunky PC hardware. I liken it to a mechanic trying to soup up a volkswagon to run like a Ferrari. Adding intake ducts for nitrous oxide injectors, numerous hoses to carry coolant to the inferior VW engine. Extra buttons and activation relays to add emulated functionality to something that really isn't there, etc.
