It is my understanding that LSI has a line of credit in Japan which is largely unused. The interest rate on this line is probably around 2% This facility could be used to finance a stock buyback program. Domestic credit lines could be used to finance purchase of Symbios.
The last thing in the world the parent of Symbios wanted was stock in
any company. Symbios's parent, a Korean chaebol, was/is in dire need of cash.
