As predicted several quarters ago ANET finally wrote off another big chunk of inventory again from obsolescence! Shum was delaying the inevitable because he tried to shop the company around to Lucent and they bought Yurie systems instead. I wouldn't be surprised if a good portion of the receivable aren't collectible also. Nevertheless, the company now represents good value. The company has restructured and has supposedly taken off an estimated $8 million off the cost structure. This company has struggled from operations since its IPO. Why should that change? In my opinion that this company would better serve the shareholders as a corporate shell for technology investments much like CMGI.
