Welcome! Excellent post. You have reinforced what I have said to Emile, very accurately, when you observed;

"Therefore, the promise of the new covenant (fulfilled in Jesus) was made before the old covenant."

I wholeheartedly agree! This was the one and only way to be saved always. That is as you said, "... faith in Jesus Christ...".
