What makes you think Motorola is pretty late to market? GMGC trialed its product with carriers last spring, Motorola is trialing this fall... 6 month difference doesn't sound that bad to me.

Chris, if you look at just telcos, that is true. My read from MOT's press release is that they won't go into beta trials until the end of this year at the earliest. That could mean their service isn't actually deployed (assuming the telco gives it a go) until 6 months later or even more. See Wildfire. It's been 9 months since they announced beta trials with PacBell and PacBell has no idea when they will deploy the service.

GMGC has the advantage of being able to offer the service to resellers. GMGC built their own NOC (no one else has that we know of). That allows GMGC to signup a ton of people and get established long before a telco deal is done. It's a great strategy! Everyone else is at the mercy of the Telcos. GMGC isn't. I kind of view GMGC as the 'DELL' of the virtual personal assistants from a distribution standpoint (not from an innovation standpoint since DELL doesn't innovate and GMGC does). GMGC has, more or less, a direct model. Of course, just like DELL did, they can add other distribution channels like Telcos.

I'd say, GMGC has at least 1 year on MOT given what I know today.
