The rally in the last 30-40 min of the session was wild...but I don't think it was anything about in particular that caused the 3:20 rally. Looks like a sector wide programmed trading. If one were to look at the intra day chart for Dell, Microsoft, Compaq...etc you'll see the same exact pattern. Dell for example went from 107 at noon to 98 at around 3:20. Then pulled up nearly 9 points to finish the day on the plus side.

However, prior to that end of the day rally however, AAPL was definitely already outperforming most of the sector. Thus while most tech stocks managed to pull up to finish even, AAPL ended the day with a nice gain.

Each of these stocks had a V shaped pattern at the end of the session.
