G,

>>>I would be willing to bet that Shell, or any other company trying to do a similar process (definitely not the same), would not proclaim the grandoise statements that Mr. Rendall gleefully crowed. <<<

Shell Oil not boast and proclaim?? Nonsense. I know for a fact that boasting and excessive proclaiming is in the Big Oil CEO Handbook..Just look for yourself...it's immediately after chest-beating and Congressman bribin', but before the part about being a generous corporate financial supporter of "Friends of the Environment".

Funny you mention Shell. Shell was one of the first to spew grandiose statements about the potential of the oil sands biz back in the early 80's. And spew they did! They raised 13 Billion dollars for the Alsands Project......unfortunately, they also hold the dubious distinction of being among the first to fail in the oilsands biz. They raised a whoppin' 13 BILLION and still couldn't produce oil. Now granted this is a paltry sum compared to Gary's 22 account investment portfolio...but a rather significant sum nonetheless. Christ, where was the SEC then? Hell, where was the Canadian freakin' Army?? Talk about a oilsand enema.

Anyway, one cannot leap to the conclusion that just because they were unsuccessful at producing oil their technolgy and project was a hoax ...just ask Syncrude and Suncor...they are using that same technology and are realizing the grandiose results they boasted of in the 70's (few believed them then....thought it was pure bullshit). I suggest going to Albuquerque and finding out for yourself....once and for all.

regards,

bigtoe
