CISCO products are inferior. It is marketing, incumbency and stalling which makes them successful. There are so many startup companies which has better products, better pricing and can provide better attention to a customer. Some products from CISCO might be better, but not all. It is bundling, price cutting to get a foot hold inside Enterprise space, It is User interface familiarity and coasting along those lines with system administrator. network administrator would like to stick to same UI, conceptual view of the system from CISCO's perspective and dictating terms for other vendors.

An MIS manager would rather align to a big company than to go with a startup. THE WORLD IS NOT BLIND and THERE ARE SO MANY BRIGHT ENGINEERS IN OTHER CORPORATIONS TOO. It is better to get the facts instead of making authoritative statement justifying their existence based on stock price.

All pundits/true followers in this chat group, why don't you create a chart of price/port for switches from CISCO for the last 5 years, price/port for a WAN port supplied by 7500, price/port for 50,000 OSPF route and then see whether prices are falling like PC prices. Ask an MIS manager whether this trend is justified in network devices when compared to PC prices.

you are most welcomed to give CISCO a margin of 60%+ quarter after quarter and waste your money on some worthless products and be stuck with it, brain washed by CISCO sales people. It is your money and you can decide where to spend it.
