Hello, Steve. Correct, it is closer to Davao than Zamboanga. But the Davao Gulf is too large to be "nifty." The actual location is "SE of Zamboanga, across the gulf," the Moro Gulf.

Raytheon was the only contractor name I could recall. It did read like a Who's Who of military-industrial types. I thought the new airport and port expansion had been completed and, therefor, wondered what they might be up to. I was aware that Raytheon is in the power generation business, but didn't see where a power facility was under construction.

Didn't intend to indicate a permanent facility, just as you say, "given recent events." An installation just large enough to facilitate fueling and stores is more what I had in mind. Just transient services.

By "more behind Gordon's boot," I was thinking more along the lines of the fewer who know, the better.

You live in Subic, Steve? I hope Gordon's replacement is a capable fellow.

Thanks for taking the time to comment.
