Billy, I have been right on ALL my C-Cube trades, including the last one for a measley .25 point gain. The way that conference call was handled or botched it was a clear signal to get out. My repeated callings of C-Cube eventually falling to $8-10 a share presupposed a few things: 1) The existence of a Bear Market in the U.S. We are in a Bear Market now. Only 8% of stocks on the NYSE are above their 200 day moving average. Interestingly enough, MO moved above its 200 day moving average at the onset of the Bear Market. I see a 25% decline from the highs on the Dow and S@P. Small Caps like C-Cube will get mangled and slaughtered. 2) The Asian crisis is worsening. It was bound to happen. It is affecting EARNINGS. It is truely an economic crisis now.
Credibility. Watch the price of C-Cube hit my target. John says he doesn't care about the share price. He is a revenue and sales man. An Abstract numbers man. I am not a devout C-Cube shareholder. Management does not warrant such an attitude for me. Management is inept from a business point of view. Life is short term, Billy, since we die. Are You a Cryonicist? I respect the goals but remain sceptical about its fulfillment. If Alex resigns and Cube gets a new CEO, I'll buy aggressively. Again, the technology is not enough.
I think this first leg down is over in about a week. A failed rally and then an even greater leg down. I'm making real good money here long ( on MO ) and short. I see another Bull Market beginning in November-December 1998. This presupposes strong Republican gains in the mid-term elections and Greenspan talking about easing. For the record, I, Rarebird, am a LOVER of Technology and the Internet and am a strong advocate of the upcoming Digital Revolution. ( My office and home is high tech all the way). I don't see the present C-Cube Management as capable of exploiting this explosive growth.
